Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is the sequel to Modern Warfare. It continues the story line from the S.A.S characters in the Modern Warfare. The game is quite similar to its predecessor except for a few improvements in physics and mechanics. The Players are thrown into a struggle between the United States of American and Russia. At the heart of the story lies a deep conspiracy within the special ranks of the task force 141. You take on the role of "Roach" a new recruit in the special ops team. As you play through the game you will run across many familiar faces from the previous game.
Gameplay mostly takes place in certain areas of Russia and America. Most of the missions involve quick insertions and taking out targets of high priority. The games story line manages to tie up all the loose ends from the first quite well. Modern Warfare 2 is set in a slightly darker mood than its previous one. The first mission itself is something that I have never stumbled across any other game. The game gives you an option to skip the opening mission due to graphical violence.
Call of duty modern warfare 2 places you in an ethical predicament which makes the player really think about his actions. This was an interesting and surprising factor to the game. I went into this game with the thoughts of just shooting my way through cities terrorized by hired mercenaries and terrorists. The game focuses more on stealth and tactical warfare which can take place anywhere. Players will traverse through snow storms, urban mazes and ancient castles used by mercenaries.
The multiplayer has been vastly improved. Players are able to actually modify and customize their weapons according to they're profile. Gadgets such as heartbeat sensors, night vision and silencers can all be added depending on the player's whim. I would personally mark this game as one of my all-time first person shooter favourites just for the multiplayer features. Overall I believe Activision has built another masterpiece for its ever growing franchise of first person shooters.
